The Justice League goes on a deep space mission with the Lanterns just as aliens try to take over the Watchtower.
Doctor Damian Home Alone’s the Watchtower.
Damian was finishing up some medical evaluations or synthesizing a new anesthetic/antidote on the Watchtower when the League left for their mission. He noticed the moment their communications got cut off from Earth and pulled the silent alarm that would alert the other civilian medical staff to rally at their assigned defensible locations. Next, he rattled off Batman’s codes for a lockdown and began the tried and true Batfam method of setting traps.
All of the equipment is in lockdown. He has sections of the tower where he’s shut off the gravity. When he’s able to with the internal sensors he begins scanning the aliens and finds out they’re sensitive to noise/light/temperature and wreaks havoc on the environmental controls. He sets trip wires and stun grenades and glue traps. Some doors are wide open and will automatically close and lock behind intruders. He leaves specific consoles active to determine what they’re looking for or what the plan is and then sends a power surge through it to electrocute them. He picks off the invaders one by one and runs a bioscan to synthesize an equivalent knockout gas to flood the tower.
Damian is the tower’s last line of defense.

I keep seeing this around and... Bro, Paint Tool Sai IS NOT a free application. It's around 52usd pay once and never again.
Buying license for Paint tool sai 1 gives you access for paint tool sai 2, without need to buy a new license.
It's a very ok price for an app that's great and offer so much, and is evolving (even though slowly), beginner friendly and all.
It SEEMS free cuz it's been pirated to hell and back, but it's not.

"Coxswains don't have to be strong, but they have to be willing to take an awful beating. They have to hold the tiller lines tight, which gives them shooting pains in the arms, and the boat sort of kicks them in the pants every time the oars bite into the water for a new stroke.
“Moch trains seriously along with the rest of his crew. 'More or less voluntarily,' he says, 'for the principle of the thing.' He has a varsity letter in fencing, too. He never sang in the glee club, in spite of his fine bass; has an 'absolute monotone.’

I wanted to do the 100 favourite films game that I saw half my dash doing, but the moment I tried, I immediately felt as though I had never seen a single film in my whole entire life. Everything I had ever enjoyed went out of my head. Thus, the obvious solution: books!
(I suspect there of being quite a lot of recency bias in this list - I've read several of these for the first time within the past three years - but I do really love them all...)
(Anyone expecting me to believe that they have read all 100 of my favourite books should prepare a short explanation for how and why they came to read a) a comprehensive history of British council housing and b) a short series of essays about the Beeching cuts. Also, that person should prepare for us to be best friends forthwith).

Of those who went to Playful Land, Vil came out of it with a surprising aversion to all things puppets. And a constant Urge to scratch at the right side of his face, fearful of feeling wood rooted in there rather than human skin. Even months afterward, he'd still feel a certain ick when dealing with anything related to puppets and will have a blatantly obvious fear response to finding even stray sticks in his hair.
He wasn't really able to stomach having ribbons on his wrists or even wearing harnesses for commercial or modeling gigs he did that year for a bit either. He'd tossed the clothes from Playful Land in the back of the Film club's costume shed, as he didn't want them to go to waste even still. He'd even asked the other's willing to give theirs up to store them in there too. He doesn't think he would be able to use them for anything, though, as just the idea of wearing that ensemble again is Abhorrent to him. Even the mere thought of Epel try one on left him feeling nauseous.
#hc; vil#//Couldn't sleep alone for a bit. Stayed w Rook bc if he woke up in a Panic; Rook would be THE ideal person to calm him & not judge or pry#//Ace and Jack in particular also left with a bad impression of the place; even if grudgingly admitting Some of it was fun#//Not that they'd Ever want to go through all THAT again; they both swore on it & to Never let the other Freshies get such ideas either#//Both also 100% had their fair share of scolding from actually scratching at their faces where the masks were rooted in#hc; ace (twst)#hc; jack (twst)#//Kalim thought it was fun; tho he did feel a familiar numbness over it for weeks after; the same way he usually did after being kidnapped#//Naturally; he didn't tell Jamil or anybody else that; bc to him it was another experience he had to suck up and bear like always#hc; kalim#//Floyd and Jade both were more amused by the peril they experienced; and even told Azul in great detail how they actually fretted over#never seeing him again; had Fellow been successful in turning them all into puppets and selling them off to the highest bidder#//They have no idea why Azul of all people got more stressed about that than they were#hc; jade (twst)#hc; floyd#//Ortho came out of it adding Fellow's personality & motivations to his database and learning to be more conniving out of it; so he's chill#//Though now he Also knows a great deal about experiencing 'fear' than he ever had before. It's just puzzling!#hc; ortho#//Leo; like Vil; ended up utterly unable to think back to his time at Playful Land as fun; considering Everything#//And likewise does also scratch at his face a little on occasion; tends to dig his claws into his skin more though#//As if he's actively feeling for any remnants of wood to be buried deep in there; and to ground himself that there aren't#//For him in particular; he got terrible episodes of sleep paralysis for weeks after; forced back into the feeling of his body stiffening#//He of course fronts everything is okay; but he Hates the feeling that he actually wound up more affected by it than he'd care to admit#//Esp considering Jack was in danger--that's the part that GOT to Leona the most. Even kept a careful eye on the lad more afterward too#hc; leona#//Lils brushed it off like nothing; considering his life experiences. More than anything; he felt guilty in not being able to DO much to#prevent the youngins from being taken or frightened by the experience; since he'd gotten captured so early on#//He did try to check in on everyone after with the subtlety of a freight train; but didn't exactly Pry further when refused#//Not like he has any better coping mechanisms than the others do; he'd take their words of handling things themselves as truth#hc; lilia

A series of news:
The bad: I am ill for the next week or so.
The good: feels like a remarkably mild cold. I’d be out doing things if I had ways to make sure others won’t catch this.
The grey area: I recently had the thought that I almost wish I had worse symptoms about this because then I could be fucking up Google’s ai training by writing the wildest fever-induced fanfics I can think of into google drive, and now I’m kinda sad about it

when I "finish" a query but it takes more than 10 seconds to load I just tell people it doesn't work yet until I can optimize it lol cause the only reason anything would run that slow is if I messed something up wrong

It's annoying that MDL has now two pages for cut and uncut version of a drama.
It does kinda make sense but is also unnecessary. It messes my lists up 🙈 especially when they make the second page when a drama is over and all the pics and comments, voting etc are on the cut version page already.

Why Use Java Interface?
An interface in Java is a blueprint of a class. It has static constants and abstract methods. There are three reasons due to which interface is used.

OMG yes
It's not that I think that it's a-ok for AI to steal everything around it willy-nilly, but I really think that the current AI problem is about AI's practical aspects than a moral issue. I mean, tools and techniques are (most of the time, exceptions apply!!) relatively neutral in their existence, we are the ones giving it meaning and value. We are the ones that decide the good (cooking) and the bad (killing) use of a knife. And we are the ones who decide when the bad use might not be that bad ('citizen killing another citizen in a street' vs 'soldier killing another soldier in a war').
To me, the AI issue is a "it's not 'we' who are giving it meaning and purpose, it's a small group of people who barely even know how it works and are only interested in the profits it may or may not bring".
In a way, since AI is an intelligence that adapts with time, training it is a bit like raising a pet, isn't it? I would prefer that my pet is raised by me and people I trust, not handed to me pre-trained by a guy who has a record of using pets to steal wallets, and being required to hand it over to that guy's pet daycare every day for 'updates in the training'. Hm-hm, wallet-stealing guy, it's not suspicious at all.
ed zitron, a tech beat reporter, wrote an article about a recent paper that came out from goldman-sachs calling AI, in nicer terms, a grift. it is a really interesting article; hearing criticism from people who are not ignorant of the tech and have no reason to mince words is refreshing. it also brings up points and asks the right questions:
if AI is going to be a trillion dollar investment, what trillion dollar problem is it solving?
what does it mean when people say that AI will "get better"? what does that look like and how would it even be achieved? the article makes a point to debunk talking points about how all tech is misunderstood at first by pointing out that the tech it gets compared to the most, the internet and smartphones, were both created over the course of decades with roadmaps and clear goals. AI does not have this.
the american power grid straight up cannot handle the load required to run AI because it has not been meaningfully developed in decades. how are they going to overcome this hurdle (they aren't)?
people who are losing their jobs to this tech aren't being "replaced". they're just getting a taste of how little their managers care about their craft and how little they think of their consumer base. ai is not capable of replacing humans and there's no indication they ever will because...
all of these models use the same training data so now they're all giving the same wrong answers in the same voice. without massive and i mean EXPONENTIALLY MASSIVE troves of data to work with, they are pretty much as a standstill for any innovation they're imagining in their heads
